Healing begins with connection.
At Bimini Coaching & Wellness, we create trauma-Informed, healing-centered spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the wisdom that reminds us we were never meant to heal alone.
I am a survivor, a helper, an adovcate, Reiki Master, and a lifelong learner.
For much of my life, I longed for safety and belonging.
Growing up, I believed that violence was simply how conflict was resolved and that power belonged to those who held it over others. Because I am not a violence person, I quietly accepted the belief that I would always be a victim.
My lived experiences, including surviving abuse and sexual violence, deeply shaped the work I do today.
As a nurse and throughout more than twenty years of supporting individuals impacted by trauma, I repeatedly saw people whose needs extended far beyond the services available to them. They needed someone to walk beside them, someone who could see them as whole people and help them reconnect with their own strength and wisdom.
This work also came from a place of lonelinenss.
For much of my life, I felt like I was standing on the outside looking In. I often believed that my role was to support everyone else while remaining unseen myself.
Because of that, I have intentionally worked to create spaces where people see seen, heard, valued, and deeply cared for.
As a queer, cisgender woman of color who has deconstructed my evangelical faith and is continually reconnecting with my Puerto Rican and Taíno heritage, I understand what it feels like to search for belonging and to rediscover yourself along the way.
I believe we all deserve spaces where we can become more fully ourselves.
I believe that healing is hard, beautiful work that should be witnessed by safe people who cheer us on along the way.
Healing isn't linear.
It follows natural rhythms and seasons.
Sometimes we need rest.
Sometimes we need community.
Sometimes we need to reconnect with ourselves.
My work is rooted In both trauma-informed and healing-centered practices. While trauma-informed care asks, "What happened to you?" healing-centered engagement also asks, "What is right with you?" and "What strengths, relationships, and wisdom can support your healing?"
I draw inspiration from Indigenous values of reciprocity, collective care, cyclical living, and tending to relationships that sustain us.
At Bimini, our goal isn't perfection.
It's wholeness.
For much of my life, I experienced the world through a lens of disconnection.
I didn't spend much time in nature, and I didn't grow up understanding where my food came from beyond a grocery store shelf or restaurant table. I often felt that caring for others meant ignoring my own needs and that success was measured by how much of myself I was willing to sacrifice.
Everything began to change when I moved to Alaska.
Through relationships with Alaska Native communities, I experienced a different way of living - one rooted in reciprocity, collective care, seasonal rhythms, celebration, and deep respect for the land and one another. I saw that community wasn't simply something people talked about; it was something people practiced.
Around the same time, I began reconnecting with my Taíno heritage after learning our people had not disappeared, as I had once been taught, but continue to preserve traditions, revitalize culture, and carry forward ancestral wisdom.
The journey continues to shape me.
When I speak about Indigenous wisdom, I am speaking from my own lived experience and ongoing learning. To me, Indigenous wisdom Is an Invitation to remember that we belong to something larger than ourselves.
It teaches reciprocity over individualism, relationship over isolation, and collective care over individual success.
It reminds us to honor those who came before us, tend to the earth that sustains us, and make choices that leave a better world for those who come after us.
These values are woven throughout everything we do at Bimini because I believe healing happens in relationship - with ourselves, with one anothers, and with the living world around us.
